Night #3

“I tightened my grip on my fathers hand”

This quote said by Elizer. This can be found in page 104.

Analysis

I chose this quote because it showed how much Elizer cared about his father. It’s important to the story because it shows the emotional state of Elizer. This says many things about the character this include, his relationship of his father and his personality.

Rabbi Elichon stood out to me this week. The character showed sorrow and depression caused by the holocaust and the betrayal of his son. He will die in the book. Traits that were revealed were depression bacause of betrayal by his son. I chose him because I’ve been betrayed before.

The second quote of the week

“Also take this spoon. Don’t sell it. Quickly! Go ahead, take what I’m giving you! My inheritance.”

-Shlomo Wiesel

I chose this quote because it seemed like it was Shlomo’s final words. It’s important because it shows how much they lost. It shows that the character has given up hope. My interpretation about the quote is, Shlomo gave his son a spoon and a knife as his inheritance because he thought he was gonna die and the only things he could give his son that would be of some type of value was the spoon and knife as his inheritance.

The character that stood out to me was Elie’s Dad. The character shows what he has left in his life. I feel like he would die. He is courages. I chose him because he showed how much life has taken away from him.

The quote of the week

“I became A-7713 from then on, I had no other name.”

I chose this quote because it was an important part of the story that will stick with the author forever. It’s important because the code name that is tattooed proves he or she is a holocaust survivor. The character accepted his unchanging fate once he got tattooed.

The character that stood out to me the most is probably Elie. Elie got whipped 25 times until he fainted. My prediction is that Elie will have more torture to confront in the future.A trait i’d give this character is bravery because he doesn’t just give up his life and hopes. Elie is the main character there, and he has more information.
